When I was given the opportunity to make Kim Leadbetter’s Batley and Spen by-election launch video, in May 2021, I was aware that there may be some difficulty presenting Kim’s story in all it’s richness. This was due to the tragic murder of the Kim’s sister, the MP Jo Cox, and the –  The tone of Kim’s commentary focused on her life lived in the area, giving the video a sense of history and place that worked well with the cutaways. The election launch video was very well received and established the dynamic and positive tone of Kim’s campaign, which despite the hotly contested seat, ended with a victory for Kim and the Labour Party.
